Only in your dreams(continued V) Dracula and Drows

The next evening, Faye was runiing later coming home from work, about an hour and a half late. She walked in the door just a few minutes before dusk and locked it behind her.
Vincent was still asleep, Celt was already home and curled up with Luth and Shadow lifted her huge head from her paws and wagged her tail. She was curled up on the giant bean bag.
Faye walked over and scratched her behind her ears. She smelled strongly of Rebecca, if Shadow had ever caught her scent off of Faye before. She took a very long shower before before retreating into the room she had semi-claimed for her own.
Shadow blinked at the strange scent and watched after her, putting her head down and wondering who the stranger was that had gotten her smell all over Faye. Vincent woke about an hour after sundown and sought out Faye, knocking on 'her' door. "Are we sleeping yet?"
"No, I'm awake, come in." When he came in she was in bed, on her back, staring at the cieling, Aros sprawled over her chest and tucked under one arm.
Vincent hadn't seen her like this before and felt gently at her thoughts to see if something was wrong before entering.
She was greatly perplexed, and had many thoughts running through her head in circular patterns.
He shut the door behind him and went to sit on the edge of her bed, asking silently for her hand with his own. "How was your day?"
She sat up, crossing her legs as she gave him her hand. Her other arm remained wrapped around her tiger. " It was okay..."
His eyebrows knitted a bit. "...What happened?"
"Rebecca apologized...."
Her thoughts made sense now. "...I see. Was she fishing for anything by it?"
"I don't know...she said she was sorry for everything...for breaking up with me, for spreading rumors, taking my freinds, she said that she was sorry, and that she wished it'd never happened. She said she's been coming by the bar so often because she missed me, and she had to be mean to me while she was there or else her freinds would know she missed me....but now she's saying that what her freinds think don't matter...and she wants to start talking again..."
"No." his response was almost instant. he closed his eyes and corrected himself. "People.. like that.. Call it a bad feeling." He held her hand between both of his. "I am not your keeper, so know I am here if she...causes any more trouble." He gave her a smile and stroked her cheek with his knuckles.
She tried to smile, but wasn't very successful. She wanted to talk to her...but she knew it might caught more hurt then help....but there was a chance...a chance everything could be hunkey dory?
He drew her into a hug and rocked a bit with her, running his hands along her back in a gentle massage. "Oh, mon petite fleur, it vill be alright." He took on a french accent, trying to make her laugh.
She leaned into it and relaxed a bit. "My little flower?" She wasn't sure, she'd never studied french.
"You are a sharp one, no?" He chuckled deep in his chest for her and soon enough simply wrapped his arms around her and fell to the side, holding her close. "Are you hungry?"
"A little." She lifted Aros out from between them and made him nuzzle Vincent's chin. "He likes you."
He snickered a bit and nuzzled at the tiger. He was glad she could still enjoy such simple things like this. "Do we want to order pizza? I've come to care little about what happens to the poor man.."
Faye raised a brow, "I care. We're not killing any body to get pizza."
"We could send Dice/Luth out for it."
He sighed. "Shadow wouldn't mind playing fetch, I don't think.."
"Alright, if shes okay with it..." Aros gently batted at Vincent's hair.
Vincent gave 'him' a look and petted at him.
Faye purred for him.
Vincent chuckled again and relayed the message to Shadow mentally so he didn't have to get up. "I promise, soon the vampires will be taken care of, and we can go on a proper- .. outing again."
She felt she had shown enough silly to Vincent for one night and brought Aros down to hug again. "Vincent..." She was suddenly shy and trying very hard to block her thoughts.
Vincent looked down at her. "Yes, Faye?" He stroked at her hair gently.
She opened her mouth and nothing came out, she closed it, and tried again, "I..." She shook her head and pushed her face into his chest. "nebermin." Her face was hot with a blush.
He blinked and gently drew her face up with a finger under her chin to look at him. "No, not nevermind.." He smiled gently for her.
She moved her chin so it wasn't on his finger anymore and put it back in his chest. He felt her mental wards fall away and a rush of thought hit him. -IthinkthatIamfallinginlovewithyouandIdon'tknowwhattodoaboutit. Webothbecamefreindsknowingthattheotherwasn'tinterestedinarelationship, butIdon'tknowhowtostopbutIfeellikeifIdon'tstopwewontbefreindsoranythingelseanymore.-
He gently kissed her hair. "It's alright, Faye Faye. Do not let it panic you lest you make the mistake that breaks us. Let things grow and evolve naturally."
He could feel her smile into his shirt and she relaxed, snuggling closer.
"I think I can do that."
He smiled and curled his fingers in her hair again, purring for her until Shadowfang came back with pizza.
She just let him, and relaxed, almost falling asleep, until pizza arrived.
It was easy to know when she had. Shadow came in, closed the door and shouted. "PIZZA!!!!" before setting it on the counter and taking her own share while she still could. VIncent gently woke Faye and went with her to fee- er.. eat. Celt simply put one of Luth's big hands over her ear and went back to snoozing with him.
Luth didn't mind, he just pulled her closer while he had the chance. Dice hopped from foot to foot with a plate, waiting for Shadow to get out of the way.
Shadow puffed her cheeks at him and took her time getting out of the way.
He leaned over and licked her cheeck, stealing her pizza from her and running.
She SNARLED and gave chase. He didn't get to keep it. She had him down, sitting on his chest, and munching her pizza in no time.
Dice pouted up at her, "Crust?"
She snarled at him and took a big bite out of the crust before giving it to him and letting him up, guarding her other slices.
He ate it and went in search of more pizza, still pleased with his game. Faye was already at the counter, eatting her slice.
Vincent was beside her, trying to steal a peperoni from her peice. Celt eventually gave in and snagged one of the boxes- since Shadow got several pizzas- and retreated back into the room with Luth.
She kept flicking his hand away. Luth laid his head on one of her legs when she sat again. Dice sat next to Shadow, smiling, "Thank you for my crust, Oh Pearl of the Werewolf Moon."
She grinned and fed him pizza if he let her. Shadow sat up straight and proud and scratched at his throat, patting his face when she was finished. Vincent muttered and groaned. "Aw, come on, just one. It is but one single slice: a wafer thin slice!"
Let her? He lounged back and enjoyed it. Dice chuckled. Faye looked him over, "Convince me I should."
Vincent dropped to his knees and bowed. "I am not worthy! I am not worthy!"
"Why should I give it to you if your not worthy of it?"
"Because I admit I am unworthy?"
"I'm not convinced, try again." She took a bite, nearly eatting the pepperoni in question.
He whimpered, jumping a bit when she took the bite. He pawed at her free arm, whimpering and whining.
"That was in informal falacy...if you can tell me which one I'll give you the pepperoni." She smiled, happy to pull on her colledge learning for once.
His expression turned dull and he stood up, crossed his arms and rattled off not only which on it was, where it was from, WHO first 'labled' it and gave several other examples. THen and only then did he open his mouth expectantly.
She put it on his tounge, smiling.
He nipped at her fingers gently as they pulled away and enjoyed his priz.
She shook her head and continued until her slice was gone. She set her plate aside.
Vincent bagged what was left of the pizza and stuck it in the fridge before washing his hands and picking Faye up onto his shoulders like a little kid.
The next day, Faye came home later again, took a shower, and waited outside of Vincent's door for him to emerge.
Vincent was awake this time and he opened the door when she went to wait outside it. "Late again, tsk tsk tsk... I will have to dock your feed.." He grinned, kidding. "How was work?
"Same, I talked to Rebecca again.." She looked up at him, "I'm really confused."
He tilted his head and welcomed her down into his 'vault' as he had come to call it.
She went down with him. "Shes...convincing."
"How so?" He took a seat at his table.
She sat down opposite him. "I can't seem to decide what I believe anymore...I knew that I wanted to talk to her last night, but that I probably wouldn't....but she was there again today, all throughout my shift, and she kept asking, telling me I could pick the time, the place, and that if I felt uncomfortable I could leave and she wouldn't be angry...she was really sweet again, like when I first met her. I had all of these convictions, and when she was there they just melted away."
.....Vincent just listened. "Tell me more about Rebecca." It wasn't that he wanted to hear about her, it was that he wanted to feel about her. He felt for Faye's thoughts as she spoke, trying to pait more of the picture.
She told him, and through her discriptions he knew that Faye felt that she could never stay mad at her, that Rebecca was beautiful, that she had never deserved her, she had been lucky to have her (before they had broken up that is), that she was kind, and smart, and that she (Faye) would never be as good as Rebecca in anything. That wasn't what she told him verbally of course.
Vincent...was not pleased with this in the least.
"I don't know, " Faye finished, feeling emotionally white washed. "She was great until she decided that she didn't want me anymore."
"Now shes gone back to that girl I thought I loved and the monster seems like a bad dream. I know it could rear its ugly head again, but I miss her Vincent."
Vincent thought for a long moment. "...I do not think I can give you any advise on this matter. Though, I would like to be able to meet her sometime and see what SHE thinks of all this.."
Faye sighed, "Thanks for listening, anyway."
"I can bring her by tomarrow night if you want..."
"Or perhaps before dusk?"
He frowned a bit. He didn't really want the girl around his home. He would rather risk being outsi-.... "How did you meet Rebecca again?"
"In a park, why?"
He shook his head. "I...am being paranoid." He smiled gently at her. "Bring her by tomorrow night."
"What time?"
"10. I will be awake by then."
Faye nodded, "I will. Thank you Vincent, maybe you can shed some light on this...I'm so confused..."
He nodded. "I hope I can, too." Vincent had his own fears on the matter, but he wouldn't let them bother Faye. "How are you enjoying the journal?":
"I like it. Its the slowest I've ever read anything, its a little hard to take in."
"The language is a bit ancient. Any clues on who's it is yet?"
"I don't want to hazard a guess." She smiled up at him.
He chuckled. "You will probably be closer than you think."
She shook her head, "I'll finish it."
He nodded. "If you like.."
The next night, at 10:15, Faye hadn't returned.
Vincent was worried by now. He waited another five minutes before pulling on an over jacket and letting Shadow know where he was going. He headed out, heading for her work, since that was where she would have been. He followed her mental or scent trail as soon as he caught it, whichever he caught first. He didn't mind it this time, so he flitted.
About ten miles away from her work in a dank and dirty side of town, Faye's scent trail was concentrated around an abandoned house that reeked of death, both recent and old.
He also could smell death scent of Rebecca.
Vincent was NOT happy. He misted from here on in, following the scent trails inside. The vampires were starting to gather..
It was a small house, littered with corpses. Some were fresh, some had obviously been there for months. He could smell Faye in the backroom. As he went through the hallway towards the room the empty husk of rebecca's body lay across the entrecne, shead like the too small skin of a lizard. In the room a creature much resembling a frail wraith was enveloped in a soft, sparkling silver cloud that issued from the body of the unconcious Faye. Faye lay unmoving, having no thoughts. She had bruises on her arms, and the butt of her jeans and pant legs were in tattered from being dragged. It was hard to tell from initial glance exactly how much of her soul had been sapped away.
Vincent ...well it was difficult to describe what happened. He remained in mist form and swirled around the wraith-creature, forming just enough to have sharp edges in a sort of bladed cyclone. If he could, he shoved the thing away from Faye.
The thing shrieked, batting away at Vincent. It was unrealistically strong for it's looks, and swiped at Vincent, to little effect. The wraith-creature refused to move away from Faye, taking the blows, the Silver grew brighter as it tried to take in more of her soul.
He reformed and grabbed the thing by the throat, screaming in its face before throwing it-if he could- off of and away from Faye.
It crashed into the wall limply, and raged back to its feet. It couldn't form words without a tongue, but it could scream pretty well. It did so now, throwing itself at Vincent and digging its talong like fingers into his flesh.
Vincent screamed right back, his shirt and jacked ripping off as he flared his age-earned wings, grasping the thing by its face and tossing it aside again. He crouched, flaring one wing over Faye and the other coiled, ready to be used. He tried desperately to remember what this thing was and how to kill it.
As it hit the second time an arm popped off. It came at him again, regaurdless of its arm. Aparantly it could be battered to pieces.
He was satisfied with that and let the thing basically kill itself. He wouldn't move from Faye, and he knew it wouldn't stop until its prey was consume,d so he simply continued bashing it around like a ragdoll.
Soon it was in too many pieces to attack again and the silver that remained in her air slowly settled back into Faye.
She moaned softly as it returned, then fell unconcious once more.
Vincent quickly gathered her up and drew his wings back in. His back would be horribly sore for the next few days... He didn't flit, since he didn't know how delicate Faye's condition was at the moment. However as he rounded out towards the front door, he wished he had flitted when he had the chance. He didn't have time to count how many glowing eyes surrounded them before they converged on them. Dodge and duck and weave and jump. He held Faye close as he danced his way around the grabs, the bites, the slashes, the shots. "Come on, Faye. Wake up, please?" He busted through the back door-having headed that way trying to get away- and leaped up on the roof, trying to buy them a few seconds so she could recover a bit.
"uh?" She had been brought back to conciousness by all the jostling, but she was staqrting to slide back out already.
Their time was up and all Vincent could see was to jump off into the front yard. "No no, stay awake." He shook her a bit, making for his jump and ignoring the four creatures that had just arrived, assuming them part of the hoard. The silence, however, made him look back and then step closer to the new arrivals. The hoard had fallen to its knees with mutterings of 'my lord' 'Dracula' 'Lord' 'Prince of Darkness' and 'Master'. Vincent almost smiled. "Father.." He afforded Dracula a bow even as he held Faye and continued to try and keep her awake. Dracula was glowering at the mass of fanglings. He did, however, open his cloak and let a woman out from under his protective arm. One of the two vampires that flanked him went to flank her and Vincent only smiled more. "Mother.."
Celeste smiled and alighted next to her son as though there wern't a murderous horde around her. She stood on her tip toes and kissed his cheek, "Saving human females now are we? Like father like son..." She looked over Faye, and shook her head. "She is in bad shape..." Faye shuddered violently, calling out Vincent's name.
Vincent tightened his hold on her. "I am right here, Faye. You are safe now." His accent had returned. ":Mother, can you do anything for her?"
Celeste came closer and laid a hand on Faye's cheek. Celeste's eyes were slightly glossed, as though she were looking deep inside of Faye. "It will take a few months for a full recovery, but a full recovery can be made..."
He nodded. "Rest and sustainance?"
She nodded, "Somewhere quiet, whereever you will be. If you are about it will be much faster...come up on the roof with me, your father doesn't like me to be down here..." She withdrew her hand and was at Dracula's side again.
Vincent nodded and drew up onto the roof, letting his father take care of the upstarts, along with the wild female who just HAD to come and watch the 'slaughter'. Vincent held Faye close to him and spoke to her, making sure she knew he was still there and that she would be alright. They would go home and perhaps read through the journal together, or throw darts at Luth.
She didn't seem to very coherant, but she knew who he was, and that she wanted him near, she wouldn't let him go. Celeste looked at Vincent, " She may be better off where I can keep an eye on her. I am not sure what kind of creature did that kind of damage, there may be side effects."
He nodded. "We can let her rest at home. You and father are invited when you are.." he glanced at Dracula ripping apart the fanglings. "..finished with things."
Celeste shook her head, "Do you think you will be safe going home? Are there more?"
"The female was the leader. We have been at this for weeks. All that will be left will be fanglings and none have been invited into my home."
"Go on then, we will follow after shorty."
Vincent nodded and flitted this time, getting Faye safely home and into a comfortable bed. He remained with her, though, laying beside her-above the blankets- and stroking her hair.
Dracula finished soon enough and opened his cloak for Celete.
Faye whimpered softly,"Can I sleep now, Vincent?" Celeste slid in next to him, purring softly.
"Sleep, Faye. It is safe." He pressed his hand against her cheek. Dracula drew his cloak around her and made for Vincent's home, Vincent having gotten his mental abilities from Dracula himself. There was no need for an invitation for one such as Dracula. He simply waltzed in with Celeste, though he did have to invite the guards in. He gave them all a tour by himself, pausing when he found not only Shadowfang, but the drows and the other human. "Vincent! Are you running a zoo?" Vincent called them into Faye's room.
Dice stood and bowed respectfully, whether it was do to Celeste's beauty or Dracula's stature wasn't clear. Luth raised a brow and shrugged, going back to giving Celt attention.
Celt blinked at them both and went back to Luth as well. Dracula found the room and stepped inside, arguing with Vincent in another language about the company he was keeping. Shadow kept him safe from the wolves and the drows had their uses, he argued. He couldn't help that one of the drows had a human female. Not really wanting to argue, Dracula let it go. He looked to Celeste. "Vill de human recover?"
She had taken a seat on the edge of the bed and had captured Faye's hand in her own. She blinked up at Dracula, uncomprehending for a moment as she focused on the current situation. "I believe she will, though almost a 1/3 of her soul was drained..., "She turned her attention to Vincent, "do not be surprised if she is listless and unmotivated. She may not find things amusing as she once did, not immediatly anyway. Think almost a zombi-esk feel...do things with her she used to enjoy, even if that doesn't seem to be the case now. I suggest she stay out of view of those that know her for at least a month...unless you can also explain how it happened..." She stroked Faye's hand slowly.
He nodded. "I will take care of her. Not that it matters, but why did you you leave home?" Dracula shrugged. "Your mother missed you and I am loathe to let her leave de safty of de castle vithout me."
"He seems to think that I will fall into a puddle and be unable to find my way out." She looked up at Dracula and smiled teasingly. "And do you really mind? Mother's intuition might have saved either you or your....human." She didn't know exactly what Faye was to Vincent, but she most certainly going to find out.
Vincent nodded and thanked his parents again. He spent the rest of the night as close to Faye as possible-not moving her tonight- and letting his father get used to the idea of him hanging around a werewolf. Shadow did her best to be civilized, even speaking in first person! Dracual didn't seem impressed-of course- though the drows DID interest him. He questioned Dice first, since Celt refused to leave Luth's side and insisted on calling Dracual 'Bella Legosi' for whatever reason. "Tell me drow, have you ever considered being...undead?"
"My name is Riuzentek, you may call me Dice. No, I've never considered it, honestly. I think that our culture is based so much in death that for one to undead would be....blasphemy."
"Ri u zen tek." He sounded out the name. "Dat is a shame.. A vampiric drow would be so...amusing.." He rose his brows with his last word in a very Vincent-like manner
"No doubt. I have an uncle that might be very interested in such a transformation. He refuses to come to the surface. He is power hungry however." luth spoke up now, "Shut up Dice! The last thing we need is for Uncle to be MORE of a pain."
Dracula grinned. "I would be his master, his vill would be mine. It is how de process verks."
Dice and Luth both widened thier eyes, "Nevermind!"
He chuckled and continued conversation about it with Dice, since Celt drug Luth off.
Dice let him know what he wanted and faye slept like a stone.
The night sort of wore on like that. Vincent drew Faye down into his coffin when the daylight came. He invited his parents to stay, but Dracula insistred they move on. "You are not our only, selfish one." So he bade them good-bye and slipped into bed with Faye, leaving the coffin cracked open so she could breathe.
"Goodnight, Vincent. Be Sweet." She disappeared under Dracula's cloak. Faye slept on, unmoving.
youll_never_know_youre_dead (3/31/2009 11:55:09 PM): Vincent stayed by Faye for the next month and a half, doing his best to explain it to those that questioned about her. Celt stayed with Luth, growing more and more secure that he was hers, but loved herself no more than when they had their discussion. She had, however, started pushing herself physically. She wanted to be faster, stronger. She wanted to be like Luth or Vincent. She didn't let it obsess her, though. She never lost sight of her true goal: Luth. Shadow stuck around of course and did her part to help Faye recover.
Faye recovered slowly. She didn't have any memory of rebecca apologizing at all, or the days that followed. The first thing she could recall was waking up in Vincent's arms the day after and being terribly confused. She had also raised quite a fuss at having missed out on the opurtunity to meet Vincent's parents. She was much recovered now, only having minor episodes of "unfayeness" as Luth had termed it.
Luth had taken to training with Celt, if she wanted him too. He also understood if she wanted to do it alone.
Every now and then she swallowed her pride and let him train with her. Vincent assured Luth it was temporary and she would recover with time. HE didn't seem to notice these 'unfayeness' episodes. "I am sure they will stop by again on their way home.." He assured Faye. "Any guesses on who's journal that is yet?"
"Yours?"
"Close"
"Your brothers?"
"Very good, now which one?" He grinned.
"Maybe I'll tell you when I've finished it. Or when you've given me a family tree." She smiled up at him and seemed to be distracted suddenly on a bit of fuzz in the air. She watched it float by lazily, her previous conversation forgotten.
He chuckeld and...watched her become ADD. He frowned a bit and caught the fuzz that held her attention. "Faye?"
She smiled at him, " mm?"
He saw what Luth meant but just smiled back at her. "Want to go for a ride?"
"Yes!" She nearly vaulted off her seat and charged to 'her' room to get ready.
youll_never_know_youre_dead (4/1/2009 12:15:44 AM): He grinned after her and dressed as well, giving her the helmet when she met him in the garage.
Luth had taken care of his and Faye's old apartment, and bit by bit moved thier stuff in. He kept waiting for Vincent to say something, but he never did. He had all of their stuff over and put away with no skin off anyone's nose. It was about a week later during the dawn when Celt felt a burning sensation across her hip. It wasvery hot, but not scalding.
She winced and woke from the feeling, looking down at her hip to see what it was.
Luth's talon, which he hand't seemed to notice yet, was growing a bright red orange color.
She frowned and lifted his hand so it wasn't burning her. "Luth...Luth wake up." She bumped him with her ass until he woke up.
Dice was having the same type of issue with his claw, though his just froze to the blanket he was using. Luth woke up with a snarled grunt and tried to go back to sleep, before he was coherant. He saw his talon and cursed in Drowish, pulling it out of Celt's grip.
She let him and pulled a little away from him, giving him his space. "Everything alright?"
"Its a message to come home and participate in the bloodfeast." He rubbed his eyes and yawned.
"The blood-wha?"
He explained to her the premise of the Bloodfeast in short simple terms. His talon stopped pestering him and he laid down again.

Celt sat up and just looked at him for a time, her face unreadable, her emotions plain. "...You're..coming back, right? That was her fear now. She was taking steps to solve her 'inferiority' problem, so in her mind she was worth a little bit of trouble. She could be without Luth for days on end and not have a problem; she just didn't like to be. The whole premise scared her to death. She knew Luth was a great fighter, knew how fast he was, how strong he was, but sometimes none of that mattered when faced with sheer numbers. She didn't want to loose him to a stupid tournament.

Celt's eyebrow twitched as she watched. She had never seen a spider eat up close and real. it was a bit...odd. She hopped up on the counter though-away from him- and watched. Nothing to do but wait for dawn..ish. She was starting to get tired though, and yawned. Maybe she'd get Dice's bed ready now..

Shadow just ginned at Dice and patted him on the head gently. "Is okay, drow-man. Long claw no good for games." She pointed at his talon as she spoke.

The next few weeks were as Vincent had feared. Many of the local vampires had started panicking for whatever reason-Vincent had no clue- and the death toll was climbing. He spent the nights he wasn't with Faye-which were starting to become fewer- out on patrol with Shadow, trying to keep things in line. He had called for back up, but even his vampiric allies were having trouble. He finally got a night off and he insisted on taking Faye out for a nice meal.

Only in your dreams(continued III)

The next couple months went about the same for Faye and Vincent. He visited her at work often and was on the hunt for a new home in the area. Shadow left for a while, returning to the wilds to feed the wolf part of her. Celt warmed up to Luth more and more each time they hung out, thinking for a party boy, he wasn't all that bad. She did, however, start having him pick her up at the end of her block instead of from her house for obvious reasons. Her father was like a fly on the wall. With classes over, she had started working full time and had changed jobs, much to her personal delight. She loved her games.

It was about mid July when Vincent came in at his usual time on a usual night to see Faye, seating himself in his normal seat and ordering his normal drink, but not in his normal attire. While here, he had chosen to wear more casual clothes. Tonight he was done up in lace, satin, silk and leather; and a large pure-silver pendant hanging around his neck baring the same crest as was on his bike. He was a bit more somber tonight, on his phone constantly when he wasn't paying attention to Faye.

Celt had texted Luth for a change in plans for the night. "Let's go down to the hookah bar!"

Celt just groaned in a questioning tone, trying her best not to cry in her fury. She kept her head on her steering wheel.

It took Vincent a moment to realize what she had done and he closed his eyes, rubbing at his temples a bit. "I believe you both said you were hungry?"

Celt shrugged. "I was born, I was raised, Hell ensued and I ended up here." She sat back, hoping he wouldn't press her. She hated talking about it. It was like beating a dead horse. All the talks she had with her parents, her grandparents, everyone that had been involved had sickened her to the point of just blocking it all out and pretending it didn't exist. She was a good person when that time didn't exist.

Vincent didn't need to read her tone, he felt around the out-lying thoughts in her head to find what he wanted. "Family business extension. I didn't want it to be like my father's, though, so I tried to change a few things. Apparently, what the contracts say don't matter anymore." He steepled his long, tapered fingers in front of him, matching up the tips of his nails as well. "Creative writing. You're hoping to be a novelist?" It was a 'duh' question, but one that kept the conversation going.

Only in y our dreams

Vincent had lost everything. His castle, his servants, his riches, his Harley. All of it gone in one fell swoop. How long had the other covens been plotting against him? Surely long enough to build up enough force to toss him aside like a rag doll.

He knocked another ball into the corner pocket.

Honestly, who could hate him THAT much? Yes, he was a smart ass and a jerk when he wanted to be, but wasn't he a good master? Wasn't he fair and kind and considerate? And of all his 'friends', his 'allies', only his werewolf friend-who was now blinking at her stick as if she was contemplating gnawing on it- remained beside him.

As he set up for another shot, he wondered if the wild vampires had it right with simply feeding and moving on without a care. WAS there anything left to care about in the world? He had seen the ages come and people go; watched as the kind were condemned and the twisted and ugly were glorified for the masks they wore.

He scratched his next shot.

With a yip, his werewolf friend hopped from her bar stool and fetched the ball as it bounced off the table and across the floor. That made him shake his head with a smirk, but his question rose right back to the forefront of his mind; and as he glanced around the pool hall he wondered over and over.

What was there left to care about?

Adam looked down at Natali, the wolf, and stroked the top of the wolf's head. "Thanks for the help." He wandered into camp only to be met with a few yells of welcome and a vicious scolding from a nearby chaperone. Adam took it in stride and eventually made his way back to his tent. After changing into warm clothes, he poked his head out of the tent in search of Natali.

The wolf waited until Adam was finished in the tent before sneaking over and into it herself. She sat on her clothes and eyed the zipper pull, thinking she could close it with her teeth. She hoped Adam would close it for her, but how would he know to?

Natali took his hand and smiled, relieved he finally understood. "Yes. Carl was only human, and didn't have enough strength to even scratch Shadow's skin, let alone bruise her. Werewolves are far too strong to be harmed by mortals. Adam could punch Shadow right now and Shadow wouldn't even flinch." She sat up straight and wiggled a bit, as if she had a tail to wag. "Vampires came, infected Carl. That's why Shadow had to burn him, before he came back as a vampire. Shadow would have had to kill him then, too. It was better for him this way, less pain."

Puppy Love

Usually Natali would have been on the court during this beautiful spring afternoon, dribbling and dodging her way through a game of basket ball with the guys. But not today.. Finals were coming up and she hadn't studied near enough yet. So here she was perched before a table strewn with her notes and books, filling out study sheet after study sheet as she tried to catch up. Part of her wondered if the guys would notice, part of her didn't care. She knew one of them would, one she had her eye on from day one:Adam.

She had been friends with Adam from the word 'go' it seemed, since her first month as a freshman. It was the end of junior year now, so it had been about two and a half years. Despite the short amount of time, she felt that they had come to know eachother fairly well, but not too well. Afterall, she couldn't just up and tell him that the random scratches or scars she came back to school with after being sick around the full moon were from her being a werewolf.. Usually she attributed it to her dogs, her brother, her parents or her own lack of balance. As far as he knew, she had lived with her parents and brother up until a few months ago where she had moved in with her new boyfriend. She hadn't really paid attention to Adam's reaction to her having a boyfriend.

She was always playing something, whether it was in the field or on the court. Rock climbing, camping, anything athletic she seemed to enjoy- and usually accelled at.. Somehow, she stayed fairly pale though, her hair always that jet black, her eyes always just as dark. Sometimes she colored the tips of her hair in bright tones or styled it something crazy, but just for that day. She fell 'punk goth' groups with her cargo pants and studded belt, tight tank tops, random bandanas and "Fallen" brand skater shoes. Today though she had kept it fairly bland.. Her colored tips had washed out and she was in black and shades of gray as she shuffled through her papers, already missing the warmth of the sun.

Under the sea

It was a clear, bright night on the shore of Italy. The Medditeranian glittered under the full moon, humans littering the streets near the shore one of their petty celebrations, but it was far quieter under the water, fishes gliding along peacefully and even a few sharks cruised along, relaxing or hunting.

Deep beneath the surface, but far enough up to catch the moonlight swam a large great white shark, the tip of it's dorsal fin broken off and a small silver ring pierced through it's left pectoral fin as it glided along, searching for fish..

The Most Shameful Secret: Dark Secrets of an Aristocratic Family

Good, LORD, that girl was annoying! For the last time, Draco took a step back in the hall, his holiday rucksack over his shoulder. "I'm sorry, Pansy, but no." Ignoring the girls further protests and plea's, he made his way down to the fireplace. Pinching a bit of floo powder, he stepped inside, standing straight and proud as he announced "Malfoy Manor" and was engulfed in bright green flames.

Slamming his feet down in his own fireplace, he stepped out and brushed off, barking for a servant- who took his bag and cloak, helping brush him off before he pushed them away- and swept away to his room. Quickly he shed his plain school robes and showered, scrubbing the ash, dust and Pansy's touch off of him until his skin was red. Drying off, he donned a fine silk shirt and black slacks, slipping on a black vest and emerald green over robe. Slipping on his house shoes, he finally made his way down first to his mother in the garden then to his father, knocking on the door frame before he entered. Once recognized, he strolled in and bowed deeply. "I have returned for the winter holidays, father." and did not rise until allowed.

The One-winged Angel's temptation.

It had been forever....

The tangibility of it all was astounding. It was so long since the wind could be felt on his skin, that his body had weight, that Masamune's slick, cold metal made him shiver as his fingers brushed it's sides.

Rising from the solemn, abandoned ruin he stood stretching out a wing to feel the current of the air swirling about this place. A blue-glow seemed to be emitted as his unnatural green eyes absorbed every detail. This place was not new, but from the way he was now experiencing it, it could have been.

Running a hand across the cragged stone, a slow smile pulled at his newly formed lips. "I live on" he whispered to the memories, kissing the rough texture and striding out into the world, his world, again.
~~~~~~
Far away in Midgar, Vincent Valentine leaned against a dark corner of the bar, watching Tifa wash the dishes with Marlene's help while Cloud lounged in a chair, rocking it back on two legs. Barret should have been back an hour ago. Ignoring the grumble in his stomach, V crossed his arms and sighed lightly, starting down at his...shoes? Could they be called shoes?. He supposed, no one had ever called them anything else so why should he? As his boredom and worry started to truely sink in, he took a seat next to Cloud and pulled out his guns, retrieving the cleaning supplies from the cabinet and tending to his weapons.
Finally, Barret returned with food. Vincent rose to take the bags from him as Marlene launched herself into his arms and he swung her up on his shoulders with a smile. Tifa shook her head, bidding Cloud to help as well who blinked out of his trance, took in the scene and went to Vincent's aid. Loading the groceries into their proper places, Tifa convinced Vincent to help her cook and he did so, carefully, often hearing Marlene laugh at it and tell him he had to do it another way. He just smiled, at least the child was happy. Happiness was so hard to find these days. so he let her enjoy it while she could.
Midnight brought sleep to the bar, Vincent lounging up on the roof, watching the stars. He felt uneasy, yet did not know why, his long black hair slipping out behind him as he propped his legs up and tapped a toe. He couldn't figure it out, but for now he let it go, closing his golden eyes and slipping off to sleep... An hour later he woke with a start, snapping into a sitting position.
Sephiroth! He had seen Sephiroth! Was he alive? Was it just a nightmare? Surely it was, Sephiroth was dead!... Or so Cloud had said... Holding his head, he returned his gaze to the stars. He was getting that restless feeling again, the need to wander. slipping down inside, he left a note for the gang and loaded up his guns, sweeping out of the bar and into the night, out of town, out of Midgar and into the wilds of Gaia.
"Damn you! Damn you all! She is mine! Make him give her back!" His words were half yelled, half snarled.
Aros held on tight to his friend, no matter how hard he hit him or threw him into something, he wasnt letting go, so long as Vincent got away with the barely conscious Jade. "She wasn't ready for it Quinn!!" Aros returned his snarls. "Did you want to KILL HER!? She wasn't ready! Your bond isn't strong enough yet!"
Vincent brought jade tothe hospital wing and laid her dow, asking Luna to watch over her for a moment and moniter her heart and breathing and make sure she was coming around, however slowly. (end)
"If neither one of us was ready, why didn't it stop?! Why was her blood calling me like a siren?! I wasn't going to kill her, I know how to turn her! Let me finish Aros! We ARE ready! You didn't hear it... we are... I can do it." He stopped trying to hurt his friend and instead leaned against his friend, hoping that if he sounded sensible... they would change their minds. See reason.
Luna did as Vincent asked of her, still a bit traumatized.
Aros just held tighter. "Not yet...not yet. You'll have your Jade, but not yet. She has to want it same as you, did you even ask?!" vincent returned soon enough with what looked like blood suppements and diffusion patch(patch that releases various substances through the skin, no needles in place of an IV) "Here we go.. Alright,, one patch on each knee dear, I'll get her elbos..." He handed her two patches that just wrapped around like a heating pad.
"I didn't need... oh... god damnit.." His voice fell dramatically and Quinn sank in Aros' arms. "I thought she wanted it... her calls were so strong.. stronger every moment." Luna nodded and took the patches from Vincent. She tore holes in Jade's pants, over the knees, and wrapped the blood supplements around her knees and made sure they were firmly in place.
Aros held him firm, letting him crash from his high gently as he could. "It's ok...it's ok now.." The color returned to Jade slowly, but it was a visible change. Vincent sat in a seat by the bed. "...Now we wait..."
Not everything is Black and white...
Snagging Snape's sore arse in his hands he snarled at the fiend, licking his lips and pressing hard into his hips after stroking his cock between his fingers once more. Turning about he headed for the door pulling open the door to real life. God he wanted to just straddle Snape again and ride him hard, but that would have to wait, for how long Lucius didn't know, he hadn't known a good fuck like this one, maybe when he was more trained it could last longer, for a while. And everyone knew that Malfoy's needed their toys.
"Severus," there was a pause as he stretched his arms up to rest his hands on the crown of his head, back muscles flexing wonderfully, "you're a good screw but next tiem I'll be expecting a little more effort." And with that he went to his bed and decked his towel, Snape's towel, on his bed, bending over in his trunk to grab out his outfit for the day along with accoutrements.
Waving a hand over his hair he silently dried it and it flowed over to curtain his face as he dug through his belongings to find his favorite fur-lined cloak.
Severus grinned, watching Lucius go. He knew he had the boy hooked, for now. It was a matter of keeping him hooked that was the problem, but that would come later. The present struggle was getting through the day without betraying that his arse pained him like a mother fuck. Easing into his robes, Severus left the showers and returned to his dorm to gather his class things and head down to breakfast. He sat alone again this morning, easing onto the seat at inconspicuously as he could.
This is for RP between designated persons and myself. Most of it will be in-depth story lines we can't do on HEXRPG.com. This is adult and graphic, usually dark. With that if you still wish to read, I welcome Sericuui Teratom to Live Journal.
The Blood Apprentice demands a sacrifice, show me what's hiding inside...
